Raw Sea Moss Directions
HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SEA MOSS
DIRECTIONS:
Rinse your sea moss thoroughly with spring water. Be sure to run your fingers through the sea moss to remove any trapped sea particles.
Place the sea moss in a large bowl and cover with fresh spring water. Be sure it’s a large bowl since seamoss does expand. Add 2-4 key limes, cut in half, squeezed and placed up side down. Key limes alkaline the water and assists with taking away the sea smell and taste.
Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours. I like to use Saran Wrap and pine a few holes in it.
In 24 hours, pour into a strainer. Give your sea moss another rinsing with spring water. I like to squeeze the rest of the lime juice out of the limes as well while rinsing. I also cut my seamoss at this point so it doesn’t tangle the blender blades.
Place the sea moss in 1.5 glasses of WARM (not boiling) spring water. Let it set for 15 minutes.
Time to blend! Transfer your seamoss and warm water into a blender. Blend until desired texture is reached. I use the crush feature for a while then blend. Usually 2 minutes or so, depends on your blender.
Place sea moss gel in an airtight, sterile container (I suggest a 16oz mason jar) and refrigerate or freeze.
Refrigeration will last 3 weeks, frozen for up to 6 months.
Take 1 tablespoon per day by itself or mix in smoothies, protein drinks, tea/coffee, oatmeal, soups, etc. Use a clean utensil and don’t double dip!
ENJOY!
